7 and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners
I have mixed feelings about the 7 and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners presentation. It makes some good points, but I think it makes learning seem too black and white. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning, but I believe that as long as you are living you are learning. People don't need a 12-step program to learn ... people are learning all the time! Following the steps they laid out might make you a very organized and efficient learner, but you will still be learning even if you decide not to follow them. I actually think that laying out long, complicated procedures like these for "learning" can discourage people more than they help. All in all, though, I thought it was an okay presentation.

Hey Linds! I really like the look of your blog. Bright and cheery. Just like it's author. The thing about learning...sometimes people need steps. And sometimes people don't learn despite having steps. The Habits is just an example to make a point about attitude. Boy, you've sure got me on blogs. I don't think I've written in my original blog since....Good to see you've got a start here. That's the point.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of Tumblr! I know some folks like Wordpress for the nice, clean look but for me Blogger seems "easier." What features of Tumblr do you like?
